The Institute for Gravitation and the Cosmos has three research centers. The Center for Fundamental Theory focuses on cosmology, general relativity, supergravity, loop quantum gravity, and string theory. One of its activities is to organize focused workshops on topical issues. We hope that significant progress can be made by bringing together world leaders for intense discussion on well-defined areas.
The "Topical Workshop on Cosmology: Interplay Between Theory and Observation" will have relatively few talks and a lot of time available for discussions, comments and exchanges.
While there is no registration fee, the discussion format requires us to limit the total number of participants. For this reason, it is important that all participants register by Sunday, April 27, 2008.
The workshop will be held in 320 Whitmore Lab at the Penn State University Park campus.
A variety of maps of Penn State and State College is available.
A detailed program is now available.
Invited workshop speakers include:
Stephon Alexander, Abhay Ashtekar, Martin Bojowald, Murat Gunaydin (chair), Radu Roiban
